(C) 2000 Diary of a Spirit
SUBTLETY
The wind whispers, and silence is golden,
And I wonder when will it all end.
Quietly winter moves in and takes charge,
And there's something about it,
Which makes it heaven sent.
I can't say that I like it,
But it calms down the earth,
And few are about to challenge,
The bitter winds that rule the night.
Who will defile it? They say,
As they eagerly cheer it on.
But time will prevail, and soon it will be gone,
And spring will bring a new day.
But for now we wait,
And see what it will destroy,
Now we wait to see, if it shows mercy.
Waiting with patience, and hoping for the best.
For spring will bring forth new life,
And the old will fade away.
So where is salvation,
For the things that wither away.
Is it in the new, or is it a hopeless cause?
The new is the same, when the old is born again,
And it tells a story, that's as old as time.
Winter is here, and all is silent
Until silence is no longer golden.
