(C) 2000 Diary of a Spirit
EARTH BOUND
Quiet and stillness, in the early morning mist.
Pondering the future, as my mind embarks a thought.
It is silence and sweetness, which makes me feel secure.
The planet rest, and all is well, without a sound to be heard.
And so I think, deep down inside, the threats of life are gone.
But then a buss, a sound of life, and traffic takes its toll.
Ah it's gone! I say, and pause, with a thought of relief near by,
But it won't be long, that I know for sure, before it comes again.
And why it could not be this way, forever and a day.
Life's subtleties, and fruitful moments,
Are a dream, which we pray we'll live to see.
The wilderness, and nature's touch, is craved by one and all,
But who is this one who hides his eyes,
From mother earth's domain.
There is no place he sees as sacred, it's all a place to build.
Money, fame, prosperity, they're all the things he needs.
And the things that last forever,
Are the things that have no place.
For moth and rust do corrupt, but he will build again.
And he will have a fitting end, when his honor, is put in print.
But mother earth will not honor him,
Save to consume him the said same way.
And the day will come when he as well will also fade away.
