DREAM COME TRUE
Do wa didy was phrase that set the stage,
When my life became indifferent,
From everything, that could be explained.
And though I was yet a child,
It roared within my head.
Yes I knew that it would change me,
forever and a day.
A guitar was all I needed,
And some time, to become a star.
And it looked as if it could happen,
Until we hear of war.
Then I met this woman,
Who caused me so much pain.
She was my friend, or at least I thought,
How I knew it would never end.
And the music was so awesome,
I thought I could rock the world.
But then she had to have me, in a cupcake, laced with gin.
But it wasn't what I wanted,
And the conflict, made it end.
So I went to California,
To seek my dream come true; But I ended up in Arizona,
And the dream got turned around.
Then one night after a bottle,
Of the best that money could buy,
I sang a song of cheer, and woke up in Abilene.
It was there I met my sorrow,
And her name was Judy Marie.
She had two beautiful children,
With hair and eyes like mine.
But the dream came to a sudden end,
When the children went away;
But the one she left with me,
was special, and my own.
And the dream no longer mattered,
Because he was just like me. A dream can last forever,
Or it can last a single day.
But a dream that last forever,
Is the dream of fatherhood.
Now some may say it's a nightmare,
But nightmares, are for the weak.
But for those who can stand almost anything,
A child is a dream come true.
