COP OUT GENERATION
Were is the wind that whispers peace,
How often has it swept across our nation.
Is the time when we cried out,
All but forgotten,
Or are we deluded with ambition?
Stillness of heart, a parallel to pain,
When pain is a product of neglect.
Neglecting to see who and what you've become,
And acting as if you really care.
A resolution this year,
It will all change I know,
But it never does, and lip service prevails.
Trivial pursuits, antagonistic disputes;
Is this the joy of life, which money can buy?
Will peace last forever, if it ever comes again.
Or will it fade away, like once before.
A coward never lasts, and a bully must surpass,
The ones who see him for what he really is.
Indulging madness,
To confirm that life demonstrates,
A freedom that is special, to us all.
But freedom is meaningless,
If peace cannot abound,
For freedom from insanity Is all that's left.
