(C) 2000 Diary of a Spirit
WE THINK THEREFORE WE ARE
I think therefore I am,
For a while at least,
Until the world and strife prevail;
And we think becomes the decree.
So where is individuality,
In the midst of it all,
Where is my special existence ,
That makes me who I am.
Who is this God,
That's sanctioned for all,
And what if I don't believe.
Will I fade away,
Unnoticed, and unheard?
Or will I have my way.
A thought can last a thousand years,
If it's kept alive, and free.
But we think we are,
Won't permit a thought that's stands alone.
So where do I go,
To know I Can think the way I choose,
A changing world, has no need,
For a thought that's not the kings.
So what if I should be so bold,
To say that I'm a king.
Does an individual have that right,
Or will he be called a sociopath,
And finally fade away?
I like to think he'll be around,
For a thousand years to come,
But a thought can last a single day,
And then just fade away.
But if it is the thought that counts,
Then we think we'll always prevail.
