(C) 2000 Diary of a Spirit
LOOKING FOR A FREE RIDE
Oh the confusion, how it reeks,
Turning people away.
So many seek to know the truth,
Of whom and what we are.
Falling pray to those who say, "I am a guiding light,"
And yet their dogma, Is none the less,
A delusion at its best.
Now nature itself tells the story,
Of how we came about.
But who will see or pay attention,
To what it has to say.
They say there's spaceships Coming back,
To take us all away. So maybe there are,
And they won't be late;
But why should they come for you.
Is it so important that you slip away,
Before the end comes near,
And what do you have That's so unique,
That they would choose to take you?
You put your faith in things men say,
And don't take time to think.
The chosen are the one who seek,
To find truth on their own.
But the guides were given,
From the start,
But no one knows them now.
So who are you,
To think your special,
And they will come For you.
Why would they let you,
Slip away Throughout the galaxies,
To take your terror,
And all your fears,
Which have plagued this earth so far?
You are quite ignorant To think that you,
Are different from the rest.
There's something special,
Which must be done,
Before the end comes near.
But you will never know That truth,
Until you get away,
From all the ones Who say they know,
The way to have it all.
